The Day Whisper and Wick Met the World

The Day Whisper and Wick Met the World

On Saturday I set up Whisper and Wick at Rayleigh Mill for my very first fair. I arrived with a car full of candles, nerves, and so much hope. I have poured so many quiet evenings and early mornings into this little business and walking into the hall felt like a milestone all on its own.

The sweetest surprise was how quickly the nerves faded. People stopped to smell each scent, chatted with me about ingredients, and shared their own love for candles. Many came back for a second look. Every conversation meant more than they probably realised.

The response was incredible. Thirteen candles found new homes which made me so happy and so proud. It was a moment where all the testing, tweaking, pouring, labelling and late night planning felt worth it.

My table was filled with the core collection. Ember with its warm notes of cinnamon, amber and orange. Glow with bright citrus. Breathe with peppermint and eucalyptus. Still with soft lavender and bergamot. Evergreen with its woodland calm. Petal with its gentle florals. Beautifully lined up with the labels I designed and printed with so much care.

What I am most grateful for is the encouragement. So many people took the time to say something kind. Starting a brand can feel scary. Putting your work on a table for others to see is a vulnerable thing. Saturday showed me that Whisper and Wick is resonating with people which fills me with a quiet confidence to keep going.

This is only the beginning. There is so much more to come for Whisper and Wick. More scents. More fairs. More stories. More candles finding their way into new homes.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat, picked up a candle, or simply smiled as they walked past. Your support means everything.
